Who has made their resolution for the new year?

I sometimes wonder if that's just the trendy thing to do. So often people make popular resolutions and by March they've not only broken the resolution, they've conceded the rest of the year to their old ways vowing to do better in January of the coming new year.

What have you resolved to do in 2013? Are you going to lose weight or quit smoking? Are you going to audition more or apply for jobs that you actually want to be doing? Are you going to stop lying to yourself and/or other people? Maybe you want to be a better husban or wife, a better boyfriend or girlfriend or maybe you want to do better at being single. No matter what you want to do, make sure you surround yourself with like minded people who support you and will help you and push you to your goal. Be sure to pick people with broad shoulders and strong backs because we know some of you will probably have to be carried kicking and screaming to your goal. I know, it's hard to set goals and reach them, but doesn't it feel good when you do? Your support system will help you not only reach your goals but will cheer you as you triumphantly cross the finish line.

Keep in mind that your friends, homies, significant other and other people with whom you currently hang may not be the best candidates for the team. In some cases they will sabotage your operation and keep you stuck in your current rut as if you were bound and gagged then tossed into quick sand on a rainy day in the Amazon. If you feel like you've lost your voice and/or your current support group bails on you when you need them most, you've probably felt helpless in the pit of inevitability. Push through it and find people worthy of your time and effort. The obstacles in your way most certainly will not disappear. That said, your new team will help you maneuver around, through and over those road blocks because when one succeeds, so does the whole team.

Not everyone is built to do what you are meant to do and vice versa. Remember that when you select your team and embark on your journey to greatness in 2013.
